How to Reduce PDF Size for Online Application Forms

Many portals reject PDFs above a size limit. These steps help you get under it without uploading private documents.

Steps

1. Open the Compress PDF tool for your target size, e.g. Compress PDF to 100KB.
2. Choose your PDF and run compression.
3. Check the new size. If it is still too big, remove unneeded pages with Delete Pages.
4. For scans, rescan in black-and-white or at a lower resolution, then compress again.

Tips

• Text PDFs shrink far more than scans.
• Exact target sizes can't be guaranteed — it depends on the file.
